What a day!

Well we had several "changes" occur in our home today.

Emily:

Today I had planned to get the boy's haircuts - they were looking pretty crazy, especially Jaren. Man that boy has a lot of hair.... Anyway, Emily and I were out to lunch (she had an extra early day of school) and she said that she wanted to get a hair cut. Then she explained that she wanted to cut her hair short! I had a much harder time with it then I thought I would. It made me sad but she was super excited. She had been hoping to donate it but needed to wait until it was 10 inches but was tired of waiting. The woman who cut it said there is another company that took it at 8 inches and that was exactly how short she wanted it cut - it worked out great. So here are the before and after picks. I think it turned out super cute!

Jaren:

With Jaren turning the wonderful age of eleven it was time for him to move from "Cub Scouts" to "Boy Scouts." Our troop basically takes the entire summer off leaving this the first pack meeting since May. Tonight he was able to "officially" advance and was very excited that he received the "Arrow of Light" award.

Here's a few of the children from a fews days ago:

When did they get so big???

I've given in...

Well, I've given in and created a blog. I didn't think I would for a long time because I thought "Who in the world would be interested in anything I have to say?" But I was talking with some friends, Michelle and Karen, about blogs and I had a thought come to me....What a great way to start a journal! I have never been good at writing things down, much to my regret. I have found I don't have a very good memory and there are many experiences now that our lost. Also, I got an email today from James' cousin, different Michelle, explaining the events of the past weekend and their cute little boy. I read it and then read more of her posts. Then I looked at her blog list and there were many family members that had blogs. I had such a fun hour reading the fun things people are up to. I especially liked one from another cousin, Amanda, regarding being greatful for her washing machine and dryer. So, here I am with a blog. I figure with the four children there would be lots of fun things to write down and it would be fun to have a new thing to do. So I hope you enjoy it if you decide to read.
